Real Estate Information

Franklin, MI

Franklin Village began in 1824. It was named after Benjamin Franklin by Elijah Bullock and other settlers who came to Franklin in 1825. Since that time, Franklin has evolved, yet remained a very quaint town and often known for “The Town That Time Forgot.”

Franklin, a surprising rural community with an old-fashioned downtown, is located in central Oakland County. This Village is home to approximately 3,200 residents. Franklin is bounded by Bingham Farms on the east, Bloomfield Township on the north, Southfield to the south and Farmington Hills to the west. More specifically, Franklin is 2.7 square miles situated east of Inkster Road, west of Telegraph Road, south of 14 Mile Road, and one-half mile east of 13 Mile Road.

Within Franklin, many historical landmarks are a major attraction for residents of Oakland County and visitors to Michigan. The Cider Mill on Franklin Road is one of the most popular attractions.

The residents enjoy being a part of the award-winning Birmingham school district.
